  • Resume Help

UIW Dental Assisting Students – I am here to help YOU.  My name is Jessica Smith, nice to meet you!  All Career Services help is included in your tuition, so make sure you use the resources! I want to help you create a custom resume and references template.  I’ve done hundreds of dental assistant resumes. I’d love to help tell your story. Send me your old resume and I’ll help you add your dental assistant skills! PLEASE put your NAME in the subject line of all emails to me (and when you save your documents include your name too.)

I am excited to help you with your resume. My help is included FREE in your tuition.

I need 2 things from you please:

1. Do you have a current or old resume?

If yes – please attach it (spend a few minutes make sure the information is current, it doesn’t have to be formatted perfectly, but please verify your phone number, email and that your latest job is listed.  I can add your dental assisting skills and school information if everything else is current.)

If you don’t have a resume, please skip to the bottom and download the resume builder template.

2. If you already have a resume please answer these 3 questions:

– What is your favorite thing about dental assisting?

– If I called someone that you’ve worked with or gone to school with what 3 words would they use to describe you?

– Why should I hire you? (If I was a dental office hiring manager)

RECAP:

If you already have a resume: Please send me your current resume after you verify that the information is updated + answers to the above questions

If you don’t have a resume:

Resume Builder QUESTIONNAIRE: Please fill out this Resume Builder Questionnaire (click to download a Word document) if you do not have a current resume OR if your resume is outdated. Remember to “Save As” and save often. This will help me get to know you and update your resume. If you just started school some sections might not apply, that’s ok, just skip them and send me what you have! I know the questionnaire is long, but it helps if you fill out as many questions as possible.

You can also download this NEW basic resume template if you’d like to work on your own resume. Remember to highlight your hands-on dental assistant training and transferable skills. I need a copy for your Career Services file please!

As soon as I get your questionnaire back, I can work on your resume and then send it back to you to review- it might take me a few weeks if everyone replies at the same time – resumes are typically returned around the 10th week of class. Email me at ResumeButterfly (dot) UIW (at) gmail (dot) com

Happy Hunting!
